Norwegian unemployment might double
Unemployment has been increasing rapidly over the last months and we increasingly get negative information about the economic developments, leader of the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration says. He believes unemployment in the country might double in the course of 2009.
Mr. Tor Saglie writes in a press release that his administration expects unemployment to increase to 100000 by the end of the year. That is more than a doubling compared with the today’s situation.
Mr. Saglie believes the employment situation will continue to deteriorate and that the situation in 2010 will be worse than 2009.
Over the last couple of years, employment in Norway has been record-high.
