Nuclear information center on “Lenin”

An information center for nuclear energy has been opened at the world’s first nuclear ice breaker “Lenin”, which is moored in Murmansk.

“Lenin” was moored in Murmansk in May 2009 and soon became one of the most popular sites in town. Nearly 33 000 people have visited the vessel since it opened for visitors, Komsomolskaya Pravda writes.

Last week the Russian State Nuclear Energy Corporation Rosatom opened the country’s sixth information center for nuclear energy aboard the “Lenin”. The purpose of the center is to inform people, and especially school children, about nuclear and radioactive safety and the effectiveness and potential of nuclear energy, TV21.ru reports.
