Passenger traffic down 25 percent
Murmansk Airport handled 25,4 percent less passengers in the five first months of the year than in the same period last year.
The number of passengers flying to and from Murmansk in January-May 2009 was 118 487. This is a drop of 25,4 percent compared to the same period in 2008, Aviaport.ru reports. Also the number of flights to and from the region dropped in the period. A total of 1139 flights arrived and departed at the airport, which is a 28,8 percent decline from last year. Murmansk Airport had a 11,7 percent increase in passenger traffic in 2008.
