Power consumption drops sharply
Russian power demand dropped 9,7 percent last week following lower industrial production.
Electricity consumption in Russia in the week to Jan. 8 dropped to 18,6 million MWh, the Market Council, a non-state regulator for the power industry, said Monday, the Moscow Times reports. The drop comes as Russian industrial production over the last couple of months have been shrinking significantly.
