Prime Minister Stoltenberg visits Kirkenes, Alta
Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg plans to visit the Arctic towns Kirkenes and Alta next week.
The aim of the visit is to be informed about the situation within education, healthcare, economic life and employment in the two towns, newspaper Finnmarken reports. In Kirkenes, Mr. Stoltenberg will visit Sydvaranger mine and an elementary school, while in Alta he will visit a healthcare center and the oil company North Energy. Minister of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs Helga Pedersen will be accompanying Mr. Stoltenberg on his visit, which takes place on Tuesday June 16.
