Prosecutors find irregularities in Pechenga
Prosecutors in Pechenga Rayon, the Russian municipality bordering Norway and Finland, say local authorities have failed to effectuate a number of programmes adopted by the local legislative council. In a court verdict, the rayon administration is told to eliminate the violations.
The local court also gave the first deputy leader of the administration a disciplinary reprimande, MBnews.ru reports. The verdict must be seen as a serious blow to leader of the municipal administration, Viktor Mavrin. According to the prosecutors, the violations were all made in the years 2008 and 2009. In the period, the majority of the target programmes adopted by the rayon council were not followed by the rayon administration. The administration did not include the programmes in the local budget, which left the adopted programmes without financing.
