Novatek plans to complete the construction of a LNG plant on the Yamal Peninsula in year 2018. The plant is to be constructed near the Yuzhno-Tambeyskoe field and have a capacity of 15-16 million tons of LNG per year.

Total bought a 49 percent stake in the Novatek owned unit set to develop the gas-field in 2009, as BarentsObserver reported.
