Radiation emergency exercise
An emergency exercise involving a simulated release of radioactive isotopes will be conducted at the Nerpa shipyard on Russia’s Kola Peninsula on July 28-29.
Nerpa shipyard is located northwest of Murmansk. The shipyard deals with repairs and decommissioning of nuclear powered submarines.
The exercise is sponsored by the Emergency Prevention, Preparedness and Response (EPPR), a working group under the Arctic Council.
