“Rational state protectionism for Russia”
A rational state protectionism will help Russian companies keep their positions on the world market in the period of financial instability, First Deputy Prime Minister Sergey Ivanov believes.
-Today, under the conditions of financial instability, it will be hard for Russian companies to keep their positions without a rational state protectionism, Mr. Ivanov said in last week’s meeting in the government commission on export control. He also highlighted that an active state foreign trade policy is a vital factor in creating long-term growth and innovative business development, RIA Novosti reports. -We need a multi-faceted support system for industrial exports, first of all in fields where we are competitive, like the space, nuclear energy, aviation and shipbuilding industry. He also called for facilitated customs procedures for exports. Sergey Ivanov is First Deputy Prime Minister with responsibility for industrial issues, the military-industrial complex, transport and communications.
