Russia drops vehicle import certificate
Foreigners do no longer need to register their private vehicle for temporary importation at the border crossing points.
The simplification of the procedures for driving foreign registered cars into Russia will have effect from February 25th, reports the portal of the Federal Customs Service.
The move will make the time to be spent in customs clearance shorter and by that the border crossing easier.

According to Barentsnova, car-drivers entering Russia will still have to fill in the customs declaration in two copies, but the 10 minutes extra to fill in the vehicle import certificate will no longer be needed.
