Russian Northern Fleet joins NATO training
A vessel from the Russian Northern Fleet will participate in an upcoming NATO navy training operation in the Norwegian Sea, the fleet press service confirms.
The Northern Fleet, the most powerful of the Russian Navy fleets, will send the Titov rescue and tugboat to the operation, Rosbaltnord.ru reports with reference to RIA Novosti. The training will take place in the Norwegian Sea in the period May-June this year. The Russian side decided to take part in the training after a meeting between Rear Admiral Trond Grytting, Regional Command North Norway and Head Commander of the Northern Fleet, Mr. Nikolay Maksimov. The operation will have special focus on rescue and emergency situations in connection with submarine accidents.
