Russian sailors in bus accident in Norway
One person was killed and three seriously hurt when a bus carrying 23 trawler crew members from Murmansk slid off the road and crashed outside Hammerfest in Northern Norway.
The bus was on its way from Murmansk to Hammerfest to replace the trawler “Boris Zaitsev“’s crew when the accident happened around midnight between Friday and Saturday.
The three most seriously injured men were sent to the University Hospital in Tromsø, while the other 19, including five or six with serious but not critical injuries, were being cared for at the local hospital in Hammerfest. 15 persons were discharged from hospital on the same day.
The crew members no longer in need of any more medical treatment, left Hammerfest for Murmansk on Sunday evening.
It is not clear what caused the accident, but local media reported that road conditions were difficult.
