Russian state fishery enterprise will get 250 000 ton quotas

The new state fishery corporation which is in the making in Russia will consist of 27 vessels and have 250 000 tons annual quotas, Head of the Russian State Committee of Fisheries Andrey Krainy says.

The commission to establish the state fishery enterprise named the Rosrybflot is signed by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, news agency RIA Novosti reports. It tells the federal state unitary enterprise National Fish Recourses to set up an enterprise with an ownership capital consisting of 27 vessels that were built abroad in the 1990’s by Russian state guaranties and now are owned by Cypriot companies.

The new state fishery enterprise will be used catch fish in remote areas inaccessible for the private fleet. It has earlier been said that the new enterprise should be based on the Arkhangelsk Trawler Fleet, the last remaining state-owned fishery company in the country, but it now seems as Russian authorities have left these plans.
