Russia’s GDP grows over 8 %

Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 8.3 percent in the first four months 2008, reports the Central Bank of Russia.

Profits grew in the processing industry, construction and trade, and incomes of the population increased by 11.3 percent over this period, writes ITAR-TASS. Chairman of the Central Bank of Russia (CBR) Sergei Ignatyev says inflation amounted to 6.3 percent over this period, and over the same period of 2007 - by 4 percent.
