Seven candidates for Naryan-Mar mayor
The election commision in Naryan-Mar, Nenets Autonomous Okrug, has made a final registration of seven candidates for the upcoming city mayor’s elections. The elections are due May 18
Among the candidates are Olga Starostina, Head of the city administration’s finance department; Yuri Rodionovskii, Executive Director of the company Prominvestsroi; Aleksander Bebenin, Director of the company GUP Nenetskaya kompania elektrosviazi, Yury Ulianicky, former employee in the Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Nenets AO; Tatyana Fedorova, current Vice-Mayor of Naryan-Mar; Viacheslav Belkov, the current acting city Mayor and Viktor Nedosvetey, Head of the local union of manufacturers and entrepreneurs. Two candidates have withdrawn their candidacies, while several others have been denied their registration due to various reasons, Regnum reports. The former Mayor Leonid Sablin resigned on March 8, 2008. The election date is set for May 18.
