Sevmash ready to hire 2500 new people
While companies all over Russia are firing people because of the financial crisis, the Sevmash shipyard in Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk Oblast, is ready to employ 2500 new people.
General Director Nikolay Kalistratov said in a recent company meeting that the yard, one of the biggest in Russia, will be ready to offer 2500 qualified workers jobs, a press release from the company reads.
The shipyard has orders beyond 2018, and is in major need of new qualified staff, Rosbalt.ru reports with reference to company sources. Also in 2008, a major number of people got jobs in the plant. Then the number amounted to 800 new workers.
Sevmash is currently heavily occupied with the upgrade of the aircraft carrier “Amdiral Gorshkov”, to be sold to the Indian Navy, as well as with the first Russian 4th generation Russian sub, the “Yury Dolgoruky.
