Shtokman project might boost population in Murmansk

With the development of the Shtokman project, the population of the Murmansk city will increase with 50,000, a regional prognosis indicates.

According to member of the Murmansk city council, Andrey Sysoev, figures from experts in the regional administration indicate that the population in Murmansk city might increase from today’s 320,000 people to 370,000 people in connection with the big upcoming investment project in the region. The prognosis believes the Shtokman project, as well as the development of the Murmansk Transport Hub will boost the local population. Both the two projects are expected to attract a number of people, both from abroad and from other parts of Russia.
