Shtokman-land expropriated
Murmansk Oblast regional government has reserved an over 166 000 hectares large piece of land in Teriberka for the development of the Shtokman gas field.
The small fishing village of Teriberka on the Northern coast of the Kola Peninsula is planned to become home to a giant LNG plant for the gas from the world’s largest offshore gas field.
According to the act, signed by Murmansk Oblast Governor Dmitry Dmitriyenko, the land will be reserved for governmental needs for seven years, the regional government’s web site reads.
