Slightly more federal money for Russian regions

The Russian government will next year transfer a total of 1.2 trillion RUB from the federal budget to the regions, Minister of Finance Igor Kudrin said at government meeting this week. The sum is up 100 billion from this year.

The transfers which will cover a variety of regional projects, among them road construction on which 113 billion RUB will be spent, Regnum reports.

In addition to the regular budget funding, the regions will also be able to apply for additional federal funding from sources like the structural fund.
