StatoilHydro, Total could pull out of Shtokman

According to the magazine, the criteria for hiring contractors — Russian or foreign — remain unsettled. About 100 sub-contractors in Murmansk and Archangelsk Oblast have been identified while roughly 350 companies in northern Norway are considered possible Shtokman contractors. Benedikt Henriksen, StatoilHydro’s industrial relations boss in Russia, confirms to Scandoil.com that his company in 2009 will have to consider all conditions before a decision on further engagement will be taken. -It could happen that the design isn’t good enough, Henriksen said, adding that “cost structures could prove unacceptable.”
