Strong performance from StatoilHydro
StatoilHydro’s fourth quarter 2008 and preliminary results for 2008, show that the company’s net income for the year 2008 amounted to 43.3 billion NOK (4.9 billion EUR).
The result is slightly down from 44.6 billion NOK in 2007, the company reports in a press release.
Results from the fourth quarter of 2008 shows however a major decrease in revenues. Then net income was 2.0 billion NOK compared to 6.2 billion NOK in the same quarter a year ago.
“I am pleased with what our people achieved in 2008,” says Helge Lund, StatoilHydro’s chief executive.
“We have delivered record production and carried out our most active exploration programme ever. In 2008 we put 12 new fields on stream. Through targeted business development we have also strengthened our positions for long-term international growth,” says Mr. Lund.
