Succesful cross-border skiing
More than 3000 people participated in this year’s Barents Friendship Skiing Race, which crosses the borders between Russia, Finland and Norway.
This weekend a record number of people took part in the 12 kilometer long race, which starts and ends in the village of Rayakoski. The participants are a mix of border guard soldiers and civilians from the three countries, Komsomolskaya Pravda writes.
The skiing race follows the border line between the three countries. Seven kilometers of the race goes on Russian territory, four on Norwegian and one on Finnish territory.
