Swedish business delegation to Murmansk
Stockholm and Norrbotten want to share experiences and strengthen the economical ties.
On June 7-9, 2011, the Swedish Trade Council in cooperation with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Consulate General of Sweden in St. Petersburg and the County Administrative Board of Norrbotten is organising a visit of a Swedish business delegation to Murmansk. The delegation will be chaired by Mr. Gunnar Oom, State Secretary to the Minister for Trade of Sweden.
The agenda includes meetings with the government of Murmansk region, Mayor of the city of Murmansk as well as with the regional ministries in charge of economic relations and investment. The Swedish side is also planning to conduct a workshop ”Sustainable energy supplies in Murmansk region” showing examples of country’s energy, environmental but also mining technologies. The workshop will be focused on finding efficient energy solutions adapted to Murmansk region.
A group of businessmen from Norrbotten under the leadership of the county Governor Per-Ola Eriksson, will be joining the delegation. The aim is to share experiences and strengthen the economical ties between Norrbotten and Murmansk Region that are already close partners within the framework of Barents cooperation.
Major companies of Murmansk region as well as high level local officials are expected to participate in the workshop that is also seen as a possibility for establishing new contacts and exploring possibilities for strengthening cross boarder business ties.
