The 50 most influential people in Arkhangelsk
The latest ranking of the most influential people in Arkhangelsk Oblast hardly includes anyone without posts in regional political bodies or administrations.
The ranking elaborated by the Pomor Centre on Public Policy in March this year places Governor Ilya Mikhalchuk on top of the list as the region’s most powerful man. He is followed by regional parliament speaker and United Russia leader Vitaly Fortygin, the region’s representative in the Federation Council Nikolay Lvov and regional top Federal Inspector Aleksey Yermakov.
Bishop Kirill of Arkhangelsk and Kholmogorye is the region’s fifth most influential person, the ranking reads.
The most powerful businessman in the region is Sevmash leader Nikolay Kalistratov who is ranked number 12. The most influential woman in the region is Yelena Usacheva, head of the regional finance department.
Among the people without direct links to political posts or regional administrations are Aleksandr Preminin, head of the regional finance chamber (34); Aleksandr Usov – leader of the regional Federation of Labour Unions (35), businessman Vladimir Krupchak (45) and Rector of the Arkhangelsk State Technical University Aleksandr Nevzorov (49).
