The Shtokman office in Teriberka
The Shtokman Development AG is about to open its new office in Teriberka, the hub for the huge Barents Sea gas project.
Office facelift
The Shtokman developers also invited the meeting participants to their new local headquarters, currently facing a major technical upgrade.
Among them was Nature and Youth Murmansk.
Gas centre
Teriberka will house the Shtokman LNG plant and key parts of the project’s land facilities. As reported by BarentsObserver, about 10000 people are expected to be involved in the development of the project. The permanent field staff is believed to be about 600. New housing quarters and service facilities are to be built near the site.
The municipality of Teriberka is located about 100 km northeast of Murmansk city. According to regional authorities, it has about 1400 inhabitants (2005).
