TKG-1 eyes expansion in Murmansk

One of the main electricity producers in Northwest Russia, the TGK-1, intents to engage in the electricity sales business in Murmansk Oblast, company leader Valerii Rodin confirms.

In a press conference yesterday, the head of the Territorial Generating Company No 1 (TGK-1) said that his company will either buy an exisiting electricity sales company in Murmansk Oblast or itself establish a new company. In the company’s main field of interest is power from hydro power stations in the region. TGK-1 owns several hydropower stations in Murmansk Oblast, among them in the Pasvik River located on the border to Norway and Finland.
