Town mayor charged
Prosecutors in Murmansk Oblast have charged the city mayor of Apatity, one of the biggest cities in the Kola Peninsula.
According to Regnum, the town mayor has failed to comply with a former court verdict, according to which an employee in the local administration is deprived her job and her rights to work for the state services. It remains unclear what will be the consequences for the town mayor. The municipality of Apatity is headed by Mikhail Atropov, a communist which won last fall’s city elections. Apatity has about 60,000 inhabitants. It houses the big industrial company Apatit.
