Two big oil fields for sale
Two of the biggest remaining oil fields in the Timan-Pechora province, the Trebs and Titov fields, might be offered in an auction in the course of the year, the director of a regional oil company says.
Mr. Sergey Nesterov, director of Rosneft-subsidiary Severnaya Neft, says a license auction to the two fields will be held late 2008. He does not exclude that several of Russia’s leading oil companies, among them Rosneft, Gazprom-Neft and Zarubezhneft might join efforts in the bid for the licenses, RIA Novosti reports.
Also Lukoil has expressed interest in the fields, which contain respectively 78,9 million tonnes and 63,4 million tons of oil.
