Two new ports allows foreign vessels
Belomorsk and Vitino ports in the White Sea will officially be new entry ports to northern Russia.
The new federal program entitled “State border of the Russian Federation 2011-2016” envisages construction of new entry points to Russia at the Belomorsk port in Karelia and Vitino port in Murmansk Oblast, both located on the White Sea coast.
Rosgranitsa.ru reports that the 16 of the existing 21 sea entry ports in Northwest-Russia will get funding for reconstruction. Among them are the ports of Arkhangelsk, Mezen, Onega, Murmansk, Teriberka and Varandey, all located in the Russian part of the Barents Region.
