Unemployment down in Murmansk
Official unemployment figures from Murmansk Oblast show that unemployment in the region is down from 3,2 percent of the work force to only 2,7 percent.
According to figures from the Murmansk Statistics Service, a total of 16600 people were registered in the employment offices by November 1. That is down from 18100 in April, Murman.ru reports.
According to government figures, unemployment in all of Russia is now below six million people, Regnum reports. In his speech at this weekend’s United Russia party congress, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said that more than 30 billion RUB will be allocated to the fight against unemployment in 2010.
