US diplomat briefed on Shtokman project
During her visit to Murmansk today, US General Consul to Sankt Petersburg Mary Kruger discussed the development of the Shtokman project and the Port of Murmansk with Murmansk Deputy Governor Sergey Sobbotin.
Ms. Kruger was on her third visit to the northwest Russian city, which is predicted a shiny future within oil and gas. In her met meeting with Mr. Subbotin, the development of the Shtokman project, the Port of Murmansk, economic issues as well as general economic relations between the USA and Russia were on the agenda, B-port.com reports. The US oil industry have shown major interest in the Shtokman project. Both ConocoPhillips and Chevron were on Gazproms shortlist of five foreign bidders, but both lost the competition to French Total and Norwegian StatoilHydro
