Villagers get broadband
In the course of 2010, broadband will be stretched to practically all municipal centres in Arkhangelsk Oblast.
The Arkhangelsk regional administration says to Regnum that the broadband development will help secure the population’s access to the Internet, and facilitate the use of the web in schools. It will significantly help improve the quality of information connections between the different municipalities, the administration argues. The difficult economic situation has resulted in delays in the broadband development in Russia. Federal programs on the stretching of broadband across the country are expected to be completed several years behind schedules.
