Wants to name street after Petrozavodsk

Local politicians in Rana, Northern Norway, want to name a street in the town after Petrozavodsk, capital in the Republic of Karelia.

The town of Rana in Nordland County has streets named after all the town’s twin towns except Petrozavodsk. Local politicians now want to change this, since Petrozavodsk is the twin town with whom Rana has had most relations to in the last years, local newspaper Rana Blad writes.

The municipality council in Rana will discuss the question of naming a street after Petrozavodsk in a meeting next week.
