Wolf attack near Murmansk
Wolves killed all reindeers inside a farm fence on the Kola Peninsula Thursday morning.
All reindeers were mauled to death when a pack of wolves jumped over the fence protecting the unique herd of domesticated reindeers.
The farm was owned by a local Sami community some 40 kilometres south of Murmansk. The farm was carrying out research into ways to tame wild reindeer. The reindeers were all killed within minutes.
According to eyewitnesses the wolves were joined by feral dogs. The Sami farmers armed with pitchforks failed to stop the animals, reports RIA Novosti.
