“Yury Dolgoruky” will need 5-6 more rounds of testing

Russia’s newest nuclear submarine, the “Yury Dolgoruky”, has undergone yet another successful testing in Russian Arctic waters.

This was the second testing of Russia’s first fourth generation nuclear submarine. It is expected that five to six more rounds of testing are required before the submarine can be delivered to the Navy, the shipyard Sevmash informs in a press release.

During this last trip, which lasted for several days, vessel systems were tested. According to the submarine’s captain Commodore Vladimir Shirin, “all tasks were successfully accomplished and after resupplying, the submarine will be ready to leave for sea again”.

As BarentsObserver reported, the last testing of the “Yury Dolgoruky” was conducted in June-July.
