"Zvezdochka" secures role in Shtokman project
Gazprom subsidiary Sevmorneftegaz has signed an agreement with the “Zvezdochka” yard in Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk Oblast, over the development of the shipyard’s company unit in Murmansk. Sevmorneftegaz says it wants to use the Murmansk yard in connection with the Shtokman field.
The agreement stipulates the development of the the Shipyard No 35 (“Sevmorput”) in Murmansk in connection with the Shtokman project in the Barents Sea. The “Sevmorput” is a branch unit of Zvezdochka. Experts believe that also the Nerpa shipyard in Murmansk Oblast, another unit under the Zvezdochka yard, will be included in agreements between Sevmorneftegaz and Zvezdochka The costs and details in the agreement remains unclear. It is expected however that the agreement stipulates a significant modenization of the Murmansk yard.
