Long-serving deputy governor dimissed
Valery Budagovsky has resigned from his post as Murmansk Deputy Governor. He was one of former governor Yury Yevdikimov’s faithful companions.
Mr. Bugadovsky has served in his post since 1997. He has been top responsible for administrative issues in the regional administration.
The long-serving official himself decided to leave his post, a press release from the regional administration reads. At the same time, the resignation comes as no surprise. Valery Budagovsky has been a representative of the former administration of Yury Yevdikomov, the governor who was dismissed earlier this year following a controversy with the United Russia Party.
Following shifts of governors, complete reshuffles in the regional administration has become the rule rather than the execption. So far, new Murmansk Governor Dmitry Dmitriyenko has kept several of Yevdokimov’s leaders. He might however decide to exchange several of them as he consolidates control in the Russian Arctic region.
