Nenets natives in regional parliaments
Leader of the Yasavey association, Vladislav Peskov, has been elected member of the Arkhangelsk regional parliament.
Mr. Peskov, the President of the Association of the Nenets people Yasavey, takes over the seat in the Arkhangelsk assembly from Governor Ilya Mikhalchuk, who headed the regional United Russia party in the March 1 elections. Also another Nenets native, Mr. Alexander Belugin, will become member of parliament. He secured a seat for Communist Party in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Mr. Belugin also has experiences from the Yasavey association. The Arkhangelsk legislative assembly has 62 deputies, of which 31 were elected in single-seat electoral districts and 31 from parties.
