Subbotin appeals to court
The disgraced city Mayor of Murmansk has appealed his dismissal by the City Council to court.
Subbotin says in a press release that his dismissal made by the City Council last week is illegitimate and that the decision therefore will be appealed in court. It is the October Court in Murmansk which will handle the case.
The City Council last week unanimously decided to dismiss Subbotin on the basis of his alleged failure to manage city affairs.
Subbotin argues that the council members have no credible evidence about his alleged mis-management and that the dismissal is illegal.
Sergey Subbotin was elected city Mayor of Murmansk in spring 2009.
