Town mayor dismissed
In an extraordinary session, the municipal assembly in the Kola district, Murmansk Oblast, this week approved the replacement of town mayor Vladimir Poliektov.
The session, which was attended by several representatives of the Murmansk regional administration, was held after Mr. Poliektov himself had announced his resignation, Murman.ru reports. Mr. Poliektov is replaced by Mikhail Chekrygin, a businessman from Apatity.
