Vote of confidence against city mayor
A group of deputies in the Murmansk city council this week intends to bring down City Mayor Sergey Subbotin.
A group of 11 council deputies yesterday raised the initiative on the mayor’s dismissal, MBnews.ru reports. A vote of confidence is due to be held in a session this week. At least 20 of the 30 council members will have to support the initiative for the mayor to be dismissed, MBnews informs.
Pressure against the mayor has been mounting over the last months. Subbotin was elected city mayor last spring after his victory over United Russia’s official candidate Mikhail Savchenko.
