All Su-24 planes grounded
After yet another crash with a Su-24 plane, Russian Air Force grounds its entire fleet of the old attack plane.
Friday’s SU-24 crash happened in the Rostov region and comes only two days after a similar plane crashed at the airfield near Monchegorsk on the Kola Peninsula. Like Wednesday’s crash, both pilots ejected safely this time also.
The crash on the runway near Monchegorsk was caused by a technical failure when the plane was attempting to land, a Defence source said to RIA Novosti.
Interfax reported that the pilots made several landing attempts before Friday’s crash in the Rostov region.
