Boost in defence spending
Russia will spend 13 trillion RUB on new armament in the period 2011-2020, Vice Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov confirms.
-The sum will be significantly bigger than originally planned by the Ministry of Finance, Ivanov told journalists this week, Rossiiskaya Gazeta reports with reference to RIA Novosti. As recently reported by BarentsObserver, Russia will also this year strongly increase its defence spending. By year 2013, Russia will boost its defence spending by more 60 percent compared with today’s level.
