ICBM tested from Plesetsk

A Topol intercontinental ballistic missile was successfully test fired from the Plesetsk cosmodrome in Arkhangelsk Oblast last Friday.

According to The Moscow Times the Russian Strategic Rockets Forces said the test was a part of checks needed to extend the service life of the Topol missiles for up to 22 years.

The missile launched from Plesetsk hit the test target on the Kamchatka Peninsula in the Russian Far East.

Russia plans 14 test launches of ballistic missiles this year, the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces said, according to RIA Novosti.
