Medvedev: we want dialogue with NATO

Russia is interested in a strengthening of European security and in a dialogue with NATO, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said yesterday.

The president welcomed a rapidly resumed full-format dialogue with NATO, he said in yesterday’s press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. He also called on Western partners to not let Russia-NATO problems limit cooperation. Mr. Medvedev also underlined that he sees the strengthening of security in Russia-EU relation as a priority. Dialogue in the Russia-NATO Council is now being resumed after a period of frozen relations following the Russia-Georgia war last year.
