Tu-95 flies again
Russian bombers on 15 hours mission outside Norway.
After being grounded since late December, Russia’s old Tu-95 strategic bombers were on the wings again last week. The suspensions of flights come after a military cargo plane with similar engines crashed in the Tula region on December 28th.
The two Tu-95 bombers took off from Engels airbase in central Russia and headed towards the Barents Sea. Turning south outside North Cape, the bombers were met by Norwegian F-16s and further south Biritsh Eurofighters.
