Wildfires disrupt planned missile launches

The many Russian wildfires have made the Russian missile forces postpone a number of planned test launches, not only of the controversial Bulava missile, but also of the Iskander and the Topol.

As previously reported, Russian military authorities have decided to postpone the launch of the Bulava with at least two weeks. A test launch of the missile was originally planned for the period 9-12 August.

However, not only the Bulava launch is being postponed. According to Nezavisimaya Gazeta, also planned lauches of the Iskander and the Topol missiles are being postponed. The official reason for the postponement is the many wildfires raging in parts of the country.
