BarentsObserver listed on Yandex
From today, BarentsObserver news articles are searchable on Yandex, the largest search engine in Russia and the world’s second largest non-English-language web-portal.
BarentsObserver is the first news-provider based in Norway listed on Yandex-search. All news articles and briefs published on BarentsObserver are co-published in Russian language bringing our Russian readers a unique source of cross-border news from the western part of the Barents Region.
The English-language articles at BarentsObserver are searchable on Google.
The numbers of readers at BarentsObserver’s Russian language articles are increasing from month-to-month. Today, many of the articles have more Russian readers than the English version of the same article.
In Russia, Yandex outrun Google by far and has the advantages of recognition of Russian inflection in search queries.
