Emma and Emil most popular

The Norwegian name trend of using girls’ name ending with “a” or “ah” continues. For the fifth year in a row, about 52 percent of all newborn girls were given such names, with Nora/Norah and Sara/Sarah taking second and third place after Emma on the top.

Boys continue to follow the international trend with names from the Bible, with Lucas/Lukas and Mathias/Matias on the second and third place after Emil on the top.
