Get a glimpse into the world of the foreign minister
Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre today launched his book titled “To Make a Difference”, where he gives a rare insight into his thinking on climate change, energy security and the importance of the High North.
The book “To Make a Difference. Reflections from a Norwegian foreign minister” was launched in Oslo today. With the book, the popular minister outlines his views on central issues in Norwegian foreign policies, among them the High North, climate change and energy security.
Mr. Støre started the writing of the book in May and has since spent early mornings, travels and weekend on the project, he said in today’s press conference.
-We live in a time of change. New powers are emerging. We have ups and downs in international relations. What is driving this development? the foreign minister asked in the press conference, adding that the book is a contribution in the discussion about what is firmly rooted and what is under change in foreign policies.
In the press conference, the minister said that the book is a contribution to a vital broader scope for the discussion of complex world issues. The book devotes major focus on the Norwegian near abroad – the High North, the Arctic Norwegian – areas where Norway has vital interests.
